It was off to QSS this morning. There was a heavy dew with large drops on banana leaves (and other things as well). I thought it would be fun to take a few shots of the drops
The is the distorted and upside down image of the HDB complex across Queensway
Another position
A sea of dew drops
There was this little hover fly buzzing around the grass. I lowered my tripod and got a few shots
I found a juvenile Nephila pilipes and as I set my tripot into the brush - the vibration spooked her. Here she is in the "I'm about to run" conformation
And here she returned to the center of the web
Against the background of an unfocused leaf
Different angle
A fly
Eating someting
Then there was another hoverfly - trying to grab a small ball of morning dew
Then he started hovering
On the approach to land
and gear down and landed
With the abdomen curved
Then off hovering again.
With landing gear down
Alighting on another whatever - with an ant on the other side. Plenty of everything for everyone
Abdomenal curvature
Then presenting her posterior aspect with abdomenal curvature
And without
Then hopping to antother
ANd returning to the first - and so it goes
