We arrive Monday afternoon, Dec 23rd - so first thing I did was start walking around the village. This is our 6th Christmas at Sojourn and I know many in the village. So time to see old acquaintances - A flooded rice field
This is the roadside view of the home of Srey Nam, Srey Neth, Srey Nith, their other 2 sisters and mom
The garden across the street. Over the week, the front area was fully planted
Each year, I photograph this man and his watering - usually in the early morning before sunrise - he recognizes me and we smile
His smile
Walking back - here is the quiet Sojourn pool. We have booked the entire place for our 50th anniversary - and all our kids and grandkids (25) are coming. Will not be so quiet in a few days
The walk to the dining area
Each year, the stuff makes a heart on our bed - this year, a double heart. Srey Neth, one of the girls from the home at the corner of the main road works in housekeeping and makes these orchid arrangements
Now its Christmas Eve morning - about 6am and Ellen's birthday - walking to a place to try to catch sunrise
Another view of the riceman inspecting the field
Inspecting the canal
Dawn reflections of palm trees. I just sit and wait
The sun appears but hidden by trees. Tomorrow I'll walk in the opposite direction to the middle of the rice fields to get a clearer view
Sunrise
Mist hanging over the rice fields
Two palms
A friendly smile
Srey Neth - and someone's baby
The Sojourn exit
