December 18, 2011:Crab Spiders and Cyrtophora

There have been heavy rains all week - for an hour or so. This mornings excursion to Queensway Secondary School - was wet to say the least. The good news is I found a couple of Cyrtophora Gaussian tents -but forgot my water spray to bring out the Gaussian surface - sigh. Here is a view

A more compelling view of the Gaussian surface is here (Sept 19, 2009)

I tried my usual yellow flower hunt for crab spider - but nothing. However this blue morning glory was home for this crab spider

I disturbed the flower - and she left - but then appeared on a near by blade of grass. You might call the crab grass

Then a bee harvesting pollen - and a lucky exposure. I'm playing with a ring flash and pleased.
