Last night was a full moon - or mostly a full moon, so I tried to catch it.
Today was my usual Saturday spider adventure - only this time, a surprise. I had not been for several weeks - and today, it was not possible to walk my usual path as fences had been erected and buildings clothed in blue wrappers
Looking toward our condo building
No crab spiders today - first time in perhaps 6 months. However, orb weavers were out. Here is an Argiope
And my favorite, Melastomataceae
There was little to capture. A small Nephila web but required flash and the light was too harsh. Went to McDonalds for a cocke and walking back found a lynx on top of a fern leaf - dry
As I was setting up to capture more, it started to rain - at the peak of the rain
Another view
And another view
Here a drop acts as a lens
And now its stopped raining and the lynx has only a few rain drops
Sort of laying over the leaf
Eyes of a lynx
She hid under the leaf and I coaxed her out. Here she is panning two leaves
Here a wet Melastomataceae
And our Argiope
Yellow rain drops
Wet little orchids
