November 15, 2009: Cyrtarachne bufo and her hanging egg sac

I was drawn to the position by reflected light on these three strands of spider silk - attached to

tracing the strand revealed a hiding place under the leaf that terminates the silk strand

And attached to the underside of the leaf is something that seems to be a spider, probably Cyrtarachne bufo with the little buds probably the beginning of the characteristic horns

On my way back, I stopped to take a photo of a butterfly. I put the tripod case down and this little guy decided this was her home - so I got some nice images of this wolf spider, Pardosa
