It all started innocently enough - a bike ride to explore the walk paralleling the ECP. Try it - and then you figure out the maze of construction-blocked roads. I started from home - down Jalan Bukit Merah - the along Cantonment Road to Keppel Road. Then it got a bit dicey - ending up in a car park with no way out except the way you came in. So I picked up my bicycle and walked a bit, then road a bit, then ended up in some small park near the IR construction. Then into the IR construction - bicycles galore:
Not since our time in Madras have I seen so many bicycles - and of course, all ridden by south Indians
Coming to work
I finally managed to continue - and ended up not at the ECP but at the Marina Barrage. Here is a view of the ship traffic
And the Singapore skyline
One of the barriers along the dyke that contains Marina Bay
The Singapore playground - IR (left) and Singapore Flyer (right)
The skyline through the M. Barrage site
Walking along the grassy path to the top
My battery died - so walked back to my bike for another battery and decided to take in the sculpture before returning to the grassy way to the top. A globe thrower
Another view
And another view
Sort of concentric Circles
Better concentric circles
Reaching around the world
A quiet fountain
Looking back at the dyke
The skyline again
And walkway across the bay
Morning ships
The walkway across the bay
The dyke
IR construction - post topping up
Now the fountains were no longer silent
The sequence here is really fun to watch
These are 1/1000 exposure to see the water drops
A closer view
From the other end
Next time - more
