Photo Essays of our Global Adventures

I currently reside in Singapore - a faculty member at Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School. Part of the challenge of my job is keeping up with tools that promote learning. This collection of adventures is my learning laboratory.

Why build a laboratory? It seems that primary school dulled my childish curiosity. Years later, I rediscovered my childish curiosity and the joy of learning. I am naive enough to think that if I can re-ignite curiosity of others, then perhaps it will facilitate restoring the joy and fun of learning for all. Learning is critical for problem solving and at Duke-NUS, we are training problem solvers. Building web pages that are engaging and capture imagination helps to restore curiosity. Building web pages also keeps me up to date with new technologies. How can I lead if I cannot execute within the same sandbox my team plays in?

Trying to remember infrequently used concepts and ideas with my biological memory removes time more productively spent chasing my curiosity. Internet accessible resources are an extension of my memory. Google helps me avoid the forgetting process by connecting me with web pages that address what I forgot. Since there is no established methodology for making learning fun while avoiding the forgetting process, I decided to try my hand using different web page strategies. This site is a work in progress.
